Week 2- Sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex
Question 1State any two reasons mentioned in the article which contributes to the sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex. 1)Desire for closer connection with their boyfriends.Sex is now part of a youthful experimentation. Some girls were curious and wanted to have sex because their friends were already doing it with their boyfriends. 2)They were being pressured by their boyfriends into giving themselves. They felt compelled to give in to the demands of their parnters to prove their love. What are some consequences which a girl might face for engaging in casual sex? The consequences are unwanted babies which most teenagers would probably abort them as it will affect thier future.Going for abortion is dangerous because a lot of blood can be lost from the vagina and weakens the body.Excessive blood can lead to death. The uterus and fallopian tubes can also become infected making it more difficult for a woman to get pregnant again. They might also have a chance to get sexually transmitted disease (STD) or even resulting a blind eye into them. Question 2: What are some of your reactions after reading this article? If one day, a close friend of yours confess to you that he/she has been engaging in sex, what would your advice to him/her be? My reaction would be very disappointed.I feel that girls should not lose their virginity. It is a bit shameful .Its not worth to bear large consequences just for doing something silly. my advice would be :Stop having sex anymore.SAY NO TO SEX! AT YOUR CURRENT AGE.WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE FAMILY PLANNING.Go to a doctor immediately to find out if you have any dieseases or whether you are pregnant. If you need help, you may share your problems with the teachers, parents or even counsellors. |
